About the job

Workplaces within LSS (Social Services for Persons with Functional Impairments) and support and care can be in group or service housing.

In elderly care, you can work within home help services, at care and nursing homes, or in short-term accommodation, where the focus may be on rehabilitation after a hospital stay.

Job Responsibilities

• Practical tasks: Perform simple household chores as needed, such as morning preparations, laundry, and tidying up the residence.
• Security and interaction: Be a calm and secure support during the night, able to handle anxiety, sleep difficulties, and emergency situations. Contribute to the well-being and sense of security of care recipients.
• Health-promoting work: Work preventively by noticing changes in health status and taking/reporting measures as needed.
• Documentation and medication management: Document interventions and manage medications according to delegation.

Qualifications

The work involves documentation, which requires computer literacy and proficiency in the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Requirements for the role:

• You must be at least 18 years old
• Good computer and mobile phone skills
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• You are an EU citizen or have a valid residence and work permit

Meritorious qualifications:

• Education or experience in healthcare, care, or social work
• Experience with delegated health and medical tasks
• Category B driver's license
• Knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing) or low-affective interaction

Employment Conditions

During the summer, we offer fixed-term employment for up to three months with work according to a finalized schedule. We are also looking for hourly relief workers who want to work extra when needed. Working hours may include both awake nights and sleeping on-call duty.

To work within the care administration, you must meet the requirements to receive delegation for medication management. This means you must read educational material, take tests, and participate in a briefing before a knowledge test. Therefore, it is important that you have good ability to read, write, and understand the Swedish language.

Note that as of July 1, 2023, the title "nurse assistant" (undersköterska) is protected, and to be employed as a nurse assistant, a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required, which you apply for yourself via their e-service.
