The position is a permanent employment at 80 percent, starting in August, with the possibility of increased working hours.

Your Role

In the role of Music Teacher, you will teach students in grades 1-5 during the upcoming school year. Depending on the school's needs, teaching in older grades may become relevant in the future. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in your subject based on the curriculum. You monitor, assess, and document students' knowledge development. The role also includes shared mentorship for students in the middle school years (grades 4-6).

Teaching takes place in half-class or full-class settings, where practical elements are combined with theoretical content. You encourage students' creativity and provide space for their own ideas and expressions, while inspiring and motivating them to develop in music through varied teaching methods and pedagogical tools. Through an inclusive approach, you adapt the teaching to each student's needs, interests, and prerequisites. If necessary, you implement additional adjustments to ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed. You actively contribute to developing the teaching based on your competence, experience, and creativity.

The role involves close collegial collaboration within the middle school team, grade-level teams, and the practical-aesthetic subject teaching staff. Another music teacher works at the school, teaching grades 6-9. You collaborate regarding students, planning, assessment, pedagogical development work, and systematic quality work. Together, you are responsible for the school's music-related activities and traditions, such as term openings, school closures, and Lucia celebrations.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• Teacher certification with subject qualification in Music for grades 1-6
• Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you also have:

• Experience working as a Music Teacher
• Experience teaching students in grades 1-5
• Experience working with students needing extra adjustments and special support
• Experience with mentorship
• Qualification in subjects other than Music.

In the classroom, you have a clear, structured, and responsive teaching leadership, where you lead, motivate, and develop your students with security and warmth. You have very good judgment in statements, actions, and decisions. You treat students and guardians professionally, with clear and thoughtful communication. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
