At Lilla Alby School, we have big visions for the future and we want you to share them. We are a preschool class to grade 6 school (F-6) with approximately 480 students. The school is located in Lilla Alby in central Sundbyberg, with easy access to the tram, bus, subway, and commuter train.

The school consists of two buildings: the red house and the white house. We have functional classrooms for subjects such as art, music, home economics, and the school library. Our after-school centers (fritidshem) have partly their own premises, furnished specifically for after-school activities. The playground at the white house, for grades F-2, is designed to encourage play and is well suited for the younger grades. The playground at the red house, for grades 3–6 and after-school activities, features a multi-purpose court suitable for various ball sports. The direct proximity to Tuvan Park is a great asset for active breaks and after-school activities.

At Lilla Alby School, you will work together with dedicated colleagues who want to drive school and after-school development, aiming for Lilla Alby School to be the obvious choice for both students and educators in preschool class, school, and after-school programs. Priority areas include the municipality-wide work on Accessible Learning in school and after-school, as well as the local physical activity initiative PulsSprintGo, which includes active breaks.

We are now looking for 1 Student Support Worker/After-School Staff Member for the intermediate grades

The role of Student Support Worker primarily involves supporting individual students throughout the school day, during lessons, transitions, breaks, and in after-school activities. As a Student Support Worker, your task is to help our students both socially and academically. You will work individually with one student or several students in class and in after-school activities. You will work together in a team consisting of the responsible mentor and educators. The tasks vary, providing a varied and challenging work environment.

We are looking for you who:

• Have several years of experience working with children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD).
• Have completed education/training within NPD.
• Have good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.

Additional qualifications that are meritorious include:

• Other pedagogical education.
• Education in special needs pedagogy.
• Knowledge of low-arousal approaches (low-affective handling).

The basic requirement is that you enjoy working with children in need of special support. Furthermore, you have the ability to build good relationships with students. You are a secure, trust-building adult and a good role model. You are engaged, flexible, patient, and have a calm, pedagogical, and solution-focused approach. You also have good collaboration skills, are receptive, and communicate and cooperate easily with students, colleagues, and guardians to achieve set goals.

The position is a full-time temporary assignment during the autumn term of 2026.
