Opportunity to apply for study grant
Are you a nursing student interested in working on Lung Ward 50E when you have completed your education and graduated as a nurse? We offer those who start semester 6 of the nursing program and choose to start their career with us after completing their studies the opportunity to apply for a study grant during your final semester (semester 6).
Grow into the role
As a newly graduated nurse at Akademiska Hospital, you will receive varied tasks and a secure and educational start in your new profession. Sometimes the step between education and working life feels large, and to give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ) during your first year with us.
KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for newly graduated nurses employed in Region Uppsala, aiming to help you sharpen your clinical skills, network with other new graduates, and have reflection time together with experienced nurses. Our operations
On Ward 50E, we primarily work with patients with severe lung diseases such as silicosis, lung cancer, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory failure. We work patient-centered in teams with a high pace of work, and everyone is very keen on helping each other when needed. We have a pleasant work climate, and both employees and patients enjoy being on our ward. We have just over 40 employees on the ward, including nurses, assistant nurses, and administrative staff. Our department is large, and in addition to the lung and heart sections, we also have thoracic surgery and thoracic intensive care within our department. We have good cooperation between the units and work to provide care that is as efficient and safe as possible for our patients.
Your qualifications
You are a nursing student starting semester 6. You are interested in pulmonology and want to start working on Ward 50E after completing your degree. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious attitude and good teamwork skills.
What we offer
We offer you a permanent position as a Nursing Assistant. Upon submission of your license, the employment will be converted to a permanent position as a Nurse.
You commit to working with us for 12 months after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as an assistant nurse or nursing assistant during your studies, but this is not a requirement. Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with duty obligations for all hours of the day, so-called rotational duty.
Here you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (Region Uppsala benefits (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/)).

Do you want to work with us?
Welcome to submit your application via the link below. We recruit continuously during the application period.
Region Uppsala values the qualities that equal gender distribution and diversity bring to the operations and welcomes applicants of all genders and with different birth backgrounds, functionalities, and life experiences.
Region Uppsala mobilizes all permanently employed personnel based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.
Before a decision on employment, checks of suspicion and criminal records are conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or involuntary care of addicts, areas covered by optional record extracts. This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks at present are not intended to primarily contain work with the aforementioned patient groups.
This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala's own channels, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and ad sales.
