Welcome to the Cultural School Stockholm
In our world, culture is important. We need spaces for culture. Places that give room for play, creativity, and dreams. Rooms where one can discover, develop, and express oneself. Rooms for imagination!
In the Cultural School, children and young people between the ages of 6 and 22 have this space. Here they have the opportunity for their own creation in their spare time in one of the Cultural School's many subjects within music, singing, theater, musical, dance, circus, art, and media. Through various events, large and small, students can perform in front of an audience. Teaching takes place in our own premises, with professional equipment, as well as in schools throughout Stockholm.
Your Role
You will teach several brass instruments (e.g., trumpet, trombone, French horn, etc.) in groups, where you take responsibility for your student groups and work to maintain good contact with the students and their families.
Together with your manager, you plan the schedule and ensure it is followed up. You also handle administration related to the teaching.
In close collaboration with the manager, colleagues, and students, you plan activities that contribute to the Cultural School's goals and commitments. This can involve outward-facing operations, concerts, and performances where you participate actively.
The role includes leading, planning, and participating in orchestra and ensemble activities. Furthermore, you participate regularly in meetings and further education to develop your work and teaching.
Your Competence and Experience
We are looking for you who have:
- A university education in music pedagogy with trumpet or trombone as the main subject, or equivalent competence acquired in another way.
Knowledge and experience of teaching:
- in groups. By group teaching, we mean explicit group methodology based on the individual student's as well as the group's development.
- of all ages that the Cultural School targets.
- at both basic and advanced levels.
It is highly meritorious if you can teach French horn, tuba, alto horn, and are familiar with the routines and working methods of the Stockholm Cultural School.
You should have pedagogical insight and good cooperation skills, as well as be self-reliant and proactive. It is also important that you have good general digital competence and are accustomed to structuring your work independently. Personal suitability will also play a role in the recruitment process.
Other Information
Teaching takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Afternoon and evening work, as well as weekend work, may occur. Work locations are Odenplan and Kungsholmen. An extract from the criminal record must be presented before employment. Temporary position with possibility of extension.
Interviews are conducted continuously.
The position may be filled immediately after the application period has ended. A trial lesson may occur as part of the recruitment process.
