Permobil in Kalmar, with the brand Panthera, is a world leader in the development and manufacturing of lightweight manual wheelchairs. Today, we have 28 employees and work with mechanical manufacturing and assembly within medical technology. In our production, we process thin special metal tubes where we cut, bend, braze, and paint – everything from series production to unique, individualized solutions. In our production unit, it is very important that we meet our daily goals with the priority of Safety, Quality, Deliveries, and Cost. As a Toolmaker/Mold Maker, it is required that you build according to existing instructions and that assembly always takes place in the safest, simplest, and most effective way decided upon. This is done with the aim of contributing to achieving daily goals.

Job Description

Do you want to work in a role where your skills truly make a difference? We at NearYou are now looking for a skilled Toolmaker/Mold Maker for our client Permobil. In this role, you will take a central place in the operation where you combine practical work with development and contribute to taking their products and processes to the next level. As a Toolmaker/Mold Maker, you will have a key role in our production and development. You will work both operationally and development-oriented – with significant influence on how we work. You will:

• Manufacture, adjust, and maintain tools and fixtures.
• Build and test prototypes – from idea to finished solution.
• Work closely with production engineers in development and improvement work.
• Contribute to more efficient processes and higher product quality.
• Work with simpler CNC programming and machine machining.
• Set up and operate machines as needed.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges in production.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are technically driven, solution-oriented, and want to develop together with us. We would like you to have:

• Experience as a Toolmaker/Mold Maker or similar role within the metal industry.
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming.
• Good mechanical understanding and practical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

The position starts as a consultancy position through us at NearYou, where you work for our client, with the intention of transitioning to a permanent position at Permobil. The position is day shift, Monday to Friday, located in Kalmar.
