About the job
Approximately 290 students attend Fredrikshovs slotts skola. The school is divided into two units: Preschool Class/Grades 1–3 and Grades 4–9. Thanks to our graduating students' top results, Fredrikshovs slotts skola has ranked among the five best primary schools in Sweden in the Swedish National Agency for Education's statistics for several years.
By forming a cohesive unit from preschool class to grade 9, we create opportunities to develop teaching methods with continuity and long-term perspective, where knowledge and skills are methodically built up to the highest possible level for each student.
We are now looking for an engaged and inspiring Science teacher for grades 6–9 to join our fantastic school. Here, you will meet motivated students, dedicated colleagues, and a workplace with high ambitions and a clear vision to continue developing Sweden's best school.
We place great emphasis on clear classroom leadership and teacher-led instruction. We are therefore looking for you who are confident in your role as a leader in the classroom and who can create a study-friendly environment where students are given the best possible conditions to succeed.
We view laboratory-based teaching positively and are looking for you who enjoy sparking students' curiosity through experiments, investigative approaches, and practical elements in teaching. Experience with cross-curricular projects and collaborations between different subjects is an advantage.
This autumn of 2026, the school will also initiate a collaboration with Vetenskapens Hus (The House of Science), which we see as a natural and exciting part of the development of the school's science teaching.
You will be part of the working group for grades 6–9 and collaborate closely with colleagues within both the subject group and mentorship.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in Science (NO) for grades 6–9 and who have high expectations for students' knowledge development.
You are engaged in children's and young people's learning and want to contribute to developing teaching and the school's operations. We would like you to be curious about pedagogical development and have a desire to continuously develop your teaching based on research, experience, and the students' needs.
You are a clear leader in the classroom, have good collaboration skills, and build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You communicate well both verbally and in writing and have a professional and respectful approach.
We would like you to:
- have strong classroom leadership skills
- value teacher-led instruction
- enjoy laboratories and practical sessions
- have experience with or interest in cross-curricular work
- be flexible and solution-oriented
- take initiative and contribute to the school's development
