The Education Administration is responsible for all operations within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, leisure centers, upper secondary schools, and adult education.

Ekillaskolan is a 7–9 grade school in Märsta where we emphasize every student's right to receive instruction at a level adapted to them. Job Description

We are now looking for you who have a very strong commitment to students who are newly arrived in our municipality and school, and who want to make a real difference.

As a teacher in the preparatory class, you are responsible for mapping, planning, implementing, and following up on the instruction. The goal is to provide students with a basic linguistic and knowledge foundation so they can be transitioned into a regular class. You often work in a team with subject teachers and study guides to ensure students' right to education.

You will have the great privilege of building up an operation almost from scratch and shaping it in a new way. We will have two groups: one for students who are completely new to Sweden and have limited school background, and another for extra preparation before transitioning to a regular class.

Together with your colleague and with support from management, you will build up and develop an operation that meets the students' needs. The preparatory class will be organized into two groups, a beginner group and an advanced group, before transitioning to a regular class. The role also includes mentorship.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license and eligibility in multiple subjects.

• You have eligibility in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) and good knowledge of basic reading and writing development for second-language students, to meet the students' needs for developing in the Swedish language.
• You have extensive empirical experience with language and knowledge-developing approaches.
• You have previous experience in the teaching profession and are driven by learning new things and learning from and with students.
• It is meritorious if you have experience working with multilingual and newly arrived students based on language and knowledge-developing approaches and a translingual perspective.
• You have excellent pedagogical skills to meet students with different backgrounds and language levels from an intercultural perspective.
• You feel confident in your role as a teacher and thrive in close collaboration with other teachers connected to the preparatory class.
• You gladly accept challenges and see opportunities to organize and develop both teaching and operations in the short and long term.
• You are a team player who thrives in close collaboration and co-teaching with colleagues, and you are not afraid to try and test new solutions in a development process regarding teaching.
• You have strong leadership skills in the classroom and enjoy being part of ongoing development work regarding teaching.
