Workplace Description

At Polhemsgatan 35, you will find St. Erik's Gymnasium, RGRH (The National School for Students with Physical Disabilities), and Polhem's Adapted Gymnasium.

St. Erik's Gymnasium is a large upper secondary school located on Kungsholmen in central Stockholm. Here, you will find an exciting mix of university-preparatory programs and vocational programs where creativity and knowledge are at the center.

St. Erik's Gymnasium offers a diversity of educations, activities, nationalities, and languages, making it a fun and stimulating workplace for both students and staff.

We train for professions within automation, electrical engineering and communication, fine woodworking, floristry, hairdressing and styling, design and sewing vocational introduction. We prepare for university through the arts program's painting and design, animation, film and directing, music, event technology, musical and theater, the natural science program, and the social science program's media, information and communication as well as social studies. We also offer adult education, adapted upper secondary school, and the National School for Students with Physical Disabilities (RGRH).

Job Description

St. Erik's Gymnasium is looking for you who are a licensed vocational teacher in electricity and who want to work within the Electricity and Energy program. You will have the opportunity to shape tomorrow's electricians. You enjoy conveying knowledge and seeing others grow.

  • You will be part of a work team that includes mentoring a student group.
  • You will work within electrical engineering with a focus on new installations, renovations, and service.
  • You will, among other things, teach subjects within Electrical Theory 1, Safety Systems Level 1, General Railway Technology Level 1, and Electrical Technology.
  • You will work both practically and theoretically to convey the knowledge that a future electrician needs to have.
  • The position includes mentoring, which means you will have close contact with your students, parents, and colleagues.
  • You work with a clear communication style and ensure that your message gets through; you convey your professional knowledge, and you plan, organize, and prioritize your assignments in an efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • You are confident and stable in your professional role, communicating in a clear and solution-focused manner.
  • You value creating good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, as well as with companies in the electrical industry (APL companies).
  • You work systematically and convey your professional knowledge in a professional manner.
  • You see inclusion and norm awareness as a natural part of your professional practice.
  • You have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a listening and flexible way.
  • You use the computer as a natural tool to develop and document students' learning.

You are trained as an electrician with documented education and hold a teaching license.

You have worked as an electrician for a few years, either as a self-employed entrepreneur or employed. It is meritorious if you have run your own business and have good and established contacts within the electrical industry.

It is important that you possess knowledge of the requirements and guidelines that the Central Trade Board for the Electrical Industry (ECY) sets for obtaining an electrician's certificate and the path to becoming a qualified electrician, as well as knowledge of the legislation that applies to electrical installations and electrical safety.

The position is a permanent employment starting August 7, 2026.
