Welcome to join a work group that cares for each other and has fun together!
We work with highly specialized care in gynecology and contribute to improved quality of life for our patients.
Our Offer
For life forward. Region Östergötland has high ambitions and a responsible mission. It is about health and care, about our region's development, and about those who live and visit here. We want to continue to be at the forefront with care, research, and education. This means daring to think new thoughts – and having the best employees. Therefore, we offer unique opportunities for further learning and invest in modern environments with efficient systems and tools. Many of us meet patients and relatives, others create the conditions for vital interventions. Here, fantastic people work towards the same goal – to make a real difference, and for life forward.
Here at the gynecological ward in Linköping, we place great value on high quality and appropriate care. This is to meet the need for gynecological care for our inpatients, our round-the-clock emergency operations, and abortion services. We have a high staffing of nurses to meet this need. In practice, this means you will never work alone as a nurse, that there is always a more experienced colleague available when you are new, and that you will not work nights during the first period.
Job Description
On the ward, we work in pair care, which is a close and important collaboration between nurses and assistant nurses. In each care team, there are up to seven patients whom we care for together, focusing on the patient's best interests. As a nurse, you are responsible for ensuring our patients receive the right care in every given situation. Collaboration with different professions is important, and as a nurse, you have a leading role in the daily work. The daily tasks in the care team include basic and specific care, medication administration, NEWS checks, ward rounds, wound care, nutrition, patient admission and discharge, mobilization, and preparations for treatment, among others.
In the evenings, on weekends, and at nights, we have an emergency reception on the ward. At the emergency reception, we receive, prepare, and assist with examinations, as well as in cases of sexualized violence.
During the day, an experienced nurse is on site as a coordinator in addition to the care team.
After a while, once you are comfortable in your role, you will start working as an on-call nurse, work nights, and act as a coordinator, receiving further training.
As a nurse here, you need to be responsible and curious, with a talent for good communication and collaboration.
Work Group
Our work group consists of nurses, assistant nurses, specialist nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, counselors, operating room planners, staffing coordinators, business developers, research nurses, and contact nurses.
Here, we have experienced nurses as coordinators and on-call nurses to ensure the availability of experienced staff on site at all hours of the day and night, as well as to meet the medical needs of our patients.
We actively work with working environment, development, and well-being. Every Monday, we have training, reflection with a counselor and priest, or APT (Work Environment Meeting) in the afternoon.
About You
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse. Previous experience in inpatient care is meritorious but not a requirement. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
As you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
We work closely together and need good communication to successfully solve the tasks we face in everyday life. Therefore, the position suits you who enjoy collaboration, are responsive, and communicative to both colleagues, patients, and relatives.

This position is a temporary contract for 6 months with start date as agreed. We work with continuous selection, so please submit your application as soon as possible.
