Specialist in General Medicine for Rural Healthcare in Svenstavik/Östersund

Imagine a health center where you can actually make an impact. Where decision-making paths are short, ideas are welcomed, and patients are more than just a booked appointment.

We are now looking for a Specialist in General Medicine who wants to help shape the future of healthcare in rural areas. We believe that good care is built together. Therefore, we value participation, initiative, and close teamwork between professions.

Here awaits a job with breadth, variety, and medical challenges. One moment you are conducting emergency assessments, the next you are building long-term patient relationships, engaging in teamwork, and developing the business.

No two days are alike – and that is exactly how we want it. We are looking for you who:

  • Enjoy thinking outside the box
  • Want to participate and make an impact
  • Want to help build up the health center together with engaged young colleagues
  • See opportunities in digital visits and future working methods
  • Are attracted by the possibilities of rural medicine

With us, you get more than just a job. You get the opportunity to build, develop, and leave a mark. Commuting between Svenstavik and Östersund is no problem as there are several bus departures.

Job Description

Working as a district physician with us in a rural area means varied and exciting days involving assessing, investigating, and treating patients with various types of ailments and issues. You will also work with seriously ill and acute patients, as the hospital is far away. You will work with health promotion, group activities, and collaborate with other professions at the health center. You will work based on evidence-based methods individually, in group activities, and via the internet.

As part of the transition to close care, you will have responsibility for the municipality's home care and SÄBO (specialized housing for the elderly) within your profession. This work includes, among other things, making home visits together with a nurse or district nurse.

We actively work to develop our treatment efforts, promote good living habits, prevent long-term sick leave, and facilitate a quick return to work.

In Svenstavik, we work with the distribution of listed patients/physicians according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines. We work in teams with PAL/PAS responsibility and have team rounds every week. In Svenstavik, we are close to each other, collegial, and help/support one another.

We collaborate closely across professional groups. We have training places for doctors and receive students in all professional categories. We are flexible and work towards more digital working methods and remote care. Each employee has influence over their own schedule.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with specialist competence in General Medicine with Swedish licensure and good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing (C1 level).

You enjoy working in teams with other professions close to the patient and would like to contribute to the development of the operations. As a person, we see that you are positive, humble, and prefer to work in a solution-oriented manner. Furthermore, we appreciate that you have a structured and flexible working style. You should have good initiative, an open mind, and be open to changes within the area of operations. Requirements include independent work, good interpersonal skills, good teamwork ability, and professional responsibility.

Own research and research supervision are meritorious but not a formal requirement for the position. Personal suitability is given great weight.

Employment and Benefits

Employment type: Permanent position.

At Region Jämtland Härjedalen, our work is permeated by our core values: we create value for those we serve, act with drive, and strive to always be perceived as reliable. With us, you have the opportunity to work in an organization where these values shape daily life and where your work truly makes a difference.

As an employee, you have access to a wide range of benefits through our benefits portal. We care about your health and offer a wellness allowance or wellness hour. At Östersund Hospital, you can also train for free at the Zefyren gym and participate in leader-led sessions.

Selection and appointment may take place continuously during the advertising period, so we would appreciate it if you submit your application as soon as possible.

We have an established recruitment process and therefore kindly but firmly decline contact with advertising salespeople or other sellers of recruitment services.
