About the Workplace

Developing position as an Assistant Physician within Rehabilitation Medicine.

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in Östersund is part of Region Jämtland Härjedalen and is one of several operations within the HNR area - Heart, Neurology, and Rehabilitation. We provide medical rehabilitation, program-based pain rehabilitation, and we also host a rheumatology clinic. We operate both outpatient and inpatient services. The inpatient department has 16 fixed beds.

We have many well-functioning teams consisting of physicians, neuropsychologists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, assistant nurses, social workers, and secretaries. Many employees at the clinic have extensive experience and high competence. Some of our diagnosis- and symptom-specific teams include the spinal cord injury team, where we have follow-up responsibility for the entire region; the tone team, where we assess and treat with botulinum toxin and exercise; and the prosthetic team, where we assess and perform rehabilitative training after prosthetic provision. The clinic has a broad patient base within neurological rehabilitation and competent staff in all teams.

The medical group currently consists of 3 specialists, 3 resident physicians (ST-läkare), and 1 assistant physician. The clinic's study director monitors and meets the educational needs of the resident physicians, for example in relation to secondary service placements outside their own region.

You will become part of an engaged medical group with a positive climate, who are proactive and responsible.

Our operations are located approximately 2.5 km from Östersund Hospital. The location near the forest and Östersund's winter sports stadium – with ski and running tracks – offers both patients and employees a nice outdoor environment with opportunities for exercise.

WORK TASKS

• The work as a physician at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine involves actively participating in and advancing the patient's rehabilitation process in collaboration with the rest of the team.
• Standard medical tasks, such as reviewing the patient's medical records, providing prescriptions and updating medication lists, assessing the patient's abilities, the patient's opportunities for self-care, and handling any internal medical complications.
• On-call duties are not included.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical degree or licensed physician.
• Swedish language skills at C1 level.
• You are a physician early in your career with an interest in rehabilitation medicine.
• Experience and interest in working with rehabilitation are meritorious.

• You work both in teams and individually. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
