Do you want meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives? Welcome to a municipality that is far from average!

The Education Department is responsible for preschool, after-school centers, primary school, upper secondary school, as well as adapted primary and upper secondary schools. We have over 3,200 employees across 40 preschools, 22 primary schools, and four upper secondary schools. Here, there is a strong commitment to ensuring that all children and students receive high-quality education, have the opportunity to develop, and reach their full potential. In Botkyrka, we see school success as the key to a good life and the strongest protective factor for the future.

The Role and Responsibilities

This position involves a clear pedagogical core assignment focusing on teaching in the KÖSU group (Knowledge-Oriented Special Education) at Malmsjö School, located in Vårsta, Botkyrka Municipality.

We work thematically and cross-curricularly, meaning you will integrate mathematics into broader contexts together with other school subjects to make learning meaningful and understandable. Together with your colleagues, you will create a predictable, safe, and stimulating learning environment.

Your main areas of responsibility:

  • Teaching: Planning, implementation, and follow-up of thematic teaching in the group, with special responsibility for mathematical progression.
  • Knowledge Development: Responsible for continuous assessment of students' knowledge development, analyzing specific mathematical difficulties, and ensuring the right interventions are implemented.
  • Adaptation to Daily Conditions: Meeting students where they are and tailoring teaching based on the individual's current prerequisites.
  • Collaboration: Maintaining the overarching special pedagogical perspective within the team and collaborating with the student health team, guardians, and school leadership.

What We Offer You

You will be part of a tight-knit, competent, and well-structured team that jointly is responsible for the students' school day. The team consists of:

  • 2 Teachers
  • 2 Resource Pedagogues
  • 1 Special Needs Teacher in Mathematics (this position)

You Who Apply to Us

Absolute Requirements:

  • Swedish teacher's degree within the range 4–9 with a corresponding teaching license.
  • Swedish special needs teacher's degree with a focus on mathematics.
  • Fluent proficiency in Swedish in both speech and writing.

Meritorious Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a teacher (preferably in the area this position covers).
  • ICT skills (Google Workspace).
  • Experience with V-Klass.
  • Experience working in special education groups or resource schools.
  • In-depth knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) and how they affect learning.
  • In-depth knowledge of various diagnoses related to language difficulties, e.g., speech disorders and dyslexia.

To thrive and succeed in this role requires a rare combination of structure and extreme flexibility. You are attentive and responsive to students' signals and have the ability to read and adapt your pedagogical approach based on the group's and the individual student's daily condition.

You have the ability to think outside the box when traditional methods are not enough – you see opportunities where others see obstacles. You are mentally robust and have a strong pedagogical intuition.

Since you work in a fixed team, it is crucial that you are relational, have excellent collaboration skills, and contribute to a non-hierarchical and solution-focused work climate.
