Teacher for Adapted Adult Education in Järfälla
At the Education Administration in Järfälla Municipality, approximately 3,100 employees work across our 39 preschools, 22 schools, upper secondary schools, adult education programs, and central administration. Järfälla Adult Education and Activity Responsibility operates municipal adult education in both authorized and self-run formats, and works with the municipality's activity responsibility (KAA). The operations are divided into Youth and Adult Guidance, focusing on the application and admission process as well as KAA, and Järfälla Learning Center.
The operations at the Learning Center consist of Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), courses at basic and upper secondary levels in Swedish as a Second Language, vocational training in healthcare and social care, construction, restaurant, and food sectors, as well as adapted adult education at basic and upper secondary levels. Here, all kinds of people with different backgrounds and study goals meet. We are passionate about giving all adults new opportunities for education and work.
At any given time, approximately 1,600 students study with us, both full-time and part-time. Our teaching staff consists of approximately 50 dedicated educators. In addition to these, the school has study administrators, a special education teacher, and additional study and career counselors.
The school is centrally located in Jakobsberg, within walking distance to both commuter trains and buses.
The operational area is currently small, and we intend to expand the operations. Teaching takes place within various subject areas within general subjects.

Job Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on current regulatory documents
- Adapt teaching to students' needs, prerequisites, and goals
- Document and assess students' knowledge development
- Your teaching is characterized by clarifying pedagogy and alternative learning tools
- Integrate digital tools into teaching (e.g., computers and iPads)
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in the work team regarding planning and development of operations
- Participate in joint work regarding admission, scheduling, and quality work
- Contribute to collegial learning and pedagogical development
- Collaborate with students' networks, such as support persons, employers, or other actors
- Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
- Support students' independence, participation, and development in everyday contexts
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- A teaching degree with certification up to upper secondary level and a special education teacher education
- Experience in teaching within adapted education
- Experience working with adult students with cognitive difficulties, such as intellectual disability or acquired brain injury
- You are well grounded in the school's regulatory documents and work actively with students' learning and development. You have a structured approach and experience with clarifying pedagogy. You are accustomed to using digital tools in teaching.
