Career and Study Counselor, 20% at Lärande Grundskola Vira

Lärande Grundskola Vira is in a development phase where we are gradually building our operations towards a full-scale preschool to grade 9 school. For the upcoming academic year, the role is primarily focused on grade 8 and covers a 20% position. As the school continues to develop and expand its lower secondary section, we anticipate that the need for career and study counseling will grow in the coming years, which may eventually lead to an expanded role.

Responsibilities

As a Career and Study Counselor with us, you will work to support and guide students in their future study and career choices. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Provide individual career and study counseling to students
• Inform about educational pathways, upper secondary school choices, and future opportunities
• Coordinate work-based learning placements (PRAO), including contact with employers and student placement
• Collaborate with mentors, student health services, and other staff
• Plan and implement counseling initiatives and information activities
• Support students in making well-informed and conscious future choices
• Contribute to developing the school's work on career and study counseling as a whole-school responsibility

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a Career and Study Counselor and have a genuine commitment to the students' development and future.

You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students based on their individual needs and prerequisites. You work in a structured and independent manner and have a knack for creating and maintaining good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and external partners.

• Are solution-focused and proactive
• Have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude
• Are relational and meet each student with engagement, empathy, and high expectations

Other Information

The position is a permanent part-time employment at 20%. Probationary employment is offered during the first 6 months.

The person offered the position must provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the police record) in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2, Sections 31–33 of the Swedish Education Act.
