Teacher for Adapted Primary School in Norrtälje

We are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building teacher for our adapted primary school in Norrtälje. Do you want to help create a safe, accessible, and developmental school environment where every student has the opportunity to grow based on their own prerequisites?

Here, we work in smaller groups with high adult presence and close collaboration between teachers, resource staff, and student health services. We value good relationships, clear structure, and an inclusive approach where student participation, safety, and development are in focus.

About the Job

As a teacher in an adapted primary school, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching based on students' individual needs and prerequisites. You work with both students studying subjects and students studying subject areas.

You work closely with colleagues, student health services, and guardians to create a safe and stimulating learning environment where students are given the opportunity to develop both academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching.
  • Adapt teaching and learning environments based on students' needs and prerequisites.
  • Work with clear structure, communication support, and relationship-building approaches.
  • Create a safe, accessible, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Collaborate with student health services, guardians, and resource staff.
  • Document and follow up on students' knowledge development.
  • Contribute to the school's development work and collegial learning.

Formal Competencies

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a certified teacher with eligibility for adapted primary school or other relevant pedagogical education.
  • Has experience working in adapted primary school or similar operations.
  • Has a good ability to adapt teaching and interaction based on students' needs.
  • Has good digital competence.
  • Expresses themselves well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Desirable Competencies

Communication and Pedagogical Tools

  • Experience with AAC/PECS, sign language, and picture support.
  • Experience with clear pedagogy and visual support.
  • Experience with alternative communication and digital aids.

Pedagogical Approaches and Learning Environments

  • Experience with low-affective interaction.
  • Experience in creating accessible and adapted learning environments.
  • Experience working with students studying subject areas.

Experience with Care-Related Work in a School Environment

  • Experience supporting students in daily routines such as meals, hygiene, mobility, and other individual care needs.
  • Experience combining pedagogical work with safety-building and care-related interventions throughout the school day.
  • Experience working closely with student assistants, guardians, and student health services to create a safe and accessible learning environment.

Communication and Relationship Building

  • Experience working with students who have communication difficulties.
  • Ability to build good and trusting relationships with students.
  • Experience of close collaboration with resource staff, student health services, and guardians.

You are flexible and solution-focused in your approach and have the ability to adapt teaching based on students' daily condition and needs.
