The Hillel Association is an organization centrally located on Östermalm that has existed since the mid-1950s. The association runs the Jewish school as well as a preschool and an after-school center. In total, the operations cover more than 400 children and have more than 70 employees. We are a small, family-oriented school with a Jewish profile, from preschool class up to grade 6. The school currently has just over 275 students. Ten years ago, we moved into completely new and adapted premises in the heart of Östermalm, featuring a schoolyard on the school's roof with views over Stockholm's rooftops. With us, you will find a closeness between parents, colleagues, and management that is somewhat exceptional. In our latest employee survey, the figures show that we are an attractive workplace, which we are proud of.

The Principal has overall responsibility for the entire Hillel, working together with the management team who are responsible for different parts of the organization. One of the Deputy Principals is responsible for the intermediate school (grades 4-6) and subject teaching and will be your closest manager.

With our small classes of approximately 20-25 students per class, the students have the opportunity for community and security, which the students also report experiencing in student health surveys. At the school, we have a strong student health team with two special education teachers, a special needs pedagog, a school counselor, and a school nurse on site.

We are now looking for a certified music teacher at 50% who can teach music to students in the lower and intermediate school. If you are certified in one or more other subjects, it is an asset; our need is primarily within the subject of Swedish, possibly in combination with Swedish as a second language. The main task is to be a music teacher. The employment degree varies depending on your qualifications and competence.

As a music teacher with us, you belong to a work team consisting of a competent group of all subject teachers at the school. You will share the music teaching with our music teacher who has worked with us for several years. The teaching takes place in our music room where you teach in half-classes. At the end of each term, we organize larger concerts with all students at the school, which are usually well-attended by family, relatives, and friends of the students. Music teaching usually takes place in several different languages where Hebrew is an important language for our students, a subject they also receive instruction in through our Jewish profile. You do not need to have knowledge of Hebrew to work with us, but you should be curious to learn more!

As a teacher, you should have a professional and relational attitude towards students, colleagues, and parents, where the best interests of the students are in focus. You should be able to create a structure that is clear but allows for flexibility for the students' different needs. You should want to collaborate with our other music teacher as well as your closest colleagues in your work team, but also see opportunities for other collaborations at the school. You are welcome to want to be part of our concerts and help develop the work with cultural elements at our school together with students and staff.

Furthermore, we see that you are open to learning more about Jewish culture and that you are curious about the Jewish traditions that are part of the school's profile. At our school, kosher food is served which is vegetarian and fish cooked from scratch, and the role includes pedagogical meals.

We see soft values as important for our staff and want to take care of our staff through lots of staff coffee breaks, several opportunities for socializing, parties, breakfasts, and after-work events. We also organize planning days together with all staff in various forms.

We handle our recruitment process ourselves, without the involvement of recruitment agencies.

If you are the right person for us, we will recruit you without waiting until the last date for applications. We look forward to hearing from you and potentially meeting, both digitally and in person.
