Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities include group theater instruction for students ranging from beginners to advanced levels. You are responsible for your student group and work to maintain good contact with the students and their families. You lead the theater group and, together with other subject teachers, plan and implement cross-curricular collaborations. In consultation with the manager, you will be responsible for scheduling and monitoring the schedule as well as administration. Together with the manager, colleagues, and students, you will plan and actively participate in activities based on the Arts School's goals and commitments, such as outward-facing activities, joint holiday activities, open activities, etc. The role also includes actively participating in meetings and further education.

As a teacher, you ensure that students have influence and participation in the teaching, and you work actively to implement the school's value base by using methods that make teaching accessible, gender-equal, and equitable.

About the Activity

Youth in Nykvarn is the municipality's collective name for activities and events aimed at children and young people. We are where children and young people are: at the library, the Arts School, and at all other places where young people need activities and safe adults. Our goal is simple: all children and young people should feel that there are places just for them. The Arts School in Nykvarn is a central and important part of Youth in Nykvarn. We offer a creative and developmental platform where young people can explore their interests in music, dance, theater, and other artistic expressions, while also having the opportunity to grow as individuals. As part of Youth in Nykvarn, the Arts School is more than just a place for teaching - we are a safe and inspiring meeting place where children and young people get the chance to create, develop, and be part of a positive social community. Together with other actors in the municipality, such as the library and open activities, we contribute to creating safe places for young people to have fun and grow in their creative expressions.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a theater or drama pedagogy education, or alternatively other competence that the employer assesses as equivalent. Knowledge and preferably experience of stage production. You have experience teaching children and young people in theater and drama. You have good cooperation skills, work in a structured manner, and are empathetic. You have a good ability to independently organize, plan, and carry out your assignment. You are receptive to your students' wishes while being secure in your pedagogical leadership. You are used to setting up your own work and making decisions independently. You have a natural confidence that makes people trust you. You have a good ability to establish and maintain good relationships with both colleagues and the Arts School's students and guardians, and have experience putting on performances with children and young people.

Meritorious is experience of teaching at an Arts School as well as putting on performances and projects with children and young people. It is also meritorious to have experience collaborating with other art forms and if you have education in diversity, integration, functional variation, and gender. We are looking for you who have a strong commitment to culture as well as children's and young people's learning and development. You have a working style characterized by structure, planning, engagement, and good cooperation skills with both individuals and groups. We would like you to be a person who is creative and has great initiative.

Other Information

Nykvarn Municipality is a Finnish administrative area, and we consider it meritorious if you speak Finnish.

Afternoon and evening work. Weekend work may occur.

The position is a vacation cover position.

We require you to present an extract from the criminal record and suspicion register before employment.
