Region Properties (Regionfastigheter) will develop hospital areas in Halland over the next 20 years, involving an increase in floor space of approximately 50%. To meet this challenge, we are looking for you who are passionate about construction issues, new technology, and smart choices. As a Building Engineer at our company, you will work both strategically and operationally. You will participate early in our projects to set building-related requirements together with property managers and the project organization. You will also follow up on projects, review documentation, and handle deviations. A key part of the role is to develop guidelines and goals for building-related issues to fulfill Region Halland's action plan for climate and environmental work, acting as a support resource for the department.

You will also be responsible for developing work with building-related issues within the Region's existing property portfolio. In your role, you will participate in various building forums, both internal and external.

About the Workplace

You will work at Region Properties, a part of the Region Office's Economics Department. We are primarily responsible for construction, property management, and rental issues. This means we actively support the region's operations with functional, practical, and sustainable premises and adapted infrastructure.

Region Properties consists of three departments: Construction and Projects, Management, and Systems and Technology. You will join the Systems and Technology department, which currently has 10 engineers. We are expanding the department with one Building Engineer. Other competencies at Region Properties include project managers, property managers, technical managers, and information managers. We work in an activity-based manner with several bases in Halland. Remote work is possible, but the work is best performed on-site to ensure direct contact with suppliers and customers.

Our operations can also be expressed in properties and square meters; we manage, among other things, health centers, hospitals, schools, dental clinics, and psychiatric clinics. In total, we manage approximately 440,000 square meters plus approximately 150,000 square meters in leased contracts around Halland.

Region Properties is facing major changes due to the political decision regarding the new hospital structure and local supply in Halland. We are working actively to document our processes and routines. Our goal is to combine the line organization with a process-oriented organization. Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant higher education or equivalent work experience assessed as equivalent by the employer, as well as at least 5–10 years of relevant work experience as a Building Engineer.

You should have good knowledge of the construction, installation, and property industries regarding building issues. You need experience in the operation and maintenance of properties or equivalent, as well as experience in both participating and acting as a client in a client organization. Experience with design and technical investigations is also a necessary competence for the position. Experience with LOU (Public Procurement Act) is meritorious.

If you have experience working with healthcare-related buildings, it is considered meritorious. Experience with sustainable construction, as well as a process-oriented working method and procurement procedures, is also valuable.

As a person, you work systematically, have good collaboration skills, and can independently drive technical issues with a holistic perspective. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

A B-driver's license is required as travel across the county is part of your work.
