The Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, GIH, is Sweden's leading knowledge centre for sport, performance development, physical activity and health. We conduct high-quality research with societal relevance, focusing on the human body in motion. We educate teachers in the school subject of physical education and health, as well as coaches, health scientists, behavioural scientists, sports and health managers, sports scientists and researchers. At GIH, 160 employees and 1,400 students work and study. The university college is located in central Stockholm, in close proximity to Stockholms Stadion and a large sports and outdoor area.

At the Department of Health Sciences, education, research and collaboration are conducted within the subject areas of psychology, neuroscience and public health science.

We are now looking for a Teaching Assistant who wants to combine studies with a meaningful and developing job in course development.

Responsibilities

In the role of Teaching Assistant, you will provide administrative support to course coordinators for newly developed courses aimed at professionals who, in their work, encounter people with neurological diseases and injuries. The responsibilities include, among other things, contact with guest lecturers and students, editing of recorded lectures and digital knowledge tests/quizzes. You will also support the course coordinators in administering learning activities and student contacts in Canvas, as well as following up on and further developing the courses in collaboration with external partners from private, public and non-profit actors within healthcare.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • You must be admitted to and be an active student in a programme at undergraduate or advanced level at a Swedish higher education institution.
  • Good language skills in Swedish, both oral and written, as a central part of the work involves communication with students, lecturers and external collaboration partners.
  • At least 60 credits in sports science, health science, medical science, physiotherapy, care science, or other relevant education, as the courses are aimed at professionals within neurological rehabilitation and healthcare.
  • Good collaboration skills.
  • Good digital proficiency.

Duration/Working Hours

The employment is fixed-term according to Higher Education Act (HF) Chapter 5, Section 12. The extent is 30% of full-time. Start date in August by agreement, until June 30, 2027.

For teaching assistant positions, employment may be for up to one year at a time, but in total up to three years. The holder of the position should be a student throughout the employment period.
