Note:

We are looking for a nursing assistant with knowledge and a genuine interest in working with individuals living with memory disorders (dementia).

Start date: Immediately

Working hours: 15:00–22:00

Schedule: 84.12% (approx. 19 shifts over four weeks, including weekdays and weekends). The company has chosen not to offer a full-time position as this would result in too many shifts per month, contributing to a better work-life balance for the employee.

Please note that we do not approve working at other workplaces in addition to this position during your employment.

Education requirements: Fully qualified nursing assistant with a recognized Swedish certificate equivalent to 1500 credits.

Salary: According to the applicable collective agreement.

Probationary period of 6 months applies from the start date according to the collective agreement.

Meritorious qualifications for the role:

• Knowledge, experience, and interest in working with people with various dementia diseases or mental health issues.
• Longer-term experience within home care services or elderly care facilities.
• Excellent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. This is required as you will interact with customers who may have difficulty understanding or speaking, and you must be able to document in journals and read instructions.
• You are social, persistent, patient, stress-resistant, proactive, and creative in your approach to work.
• You handle stress well and can plan and structure your work effectively.
• Good local knowledge of inner-city Stockholm, as you travel to customers via public transport or on foot.

Job Responsibilities

You will follow an intervention schedule and visit customers in their own homes to perform the interventions approved in their care decisions. These decisions include, among other things, general hygiene and intimate hygiene, assistance with dressing and undressing, cooking, household management, and social interaction. We focus heavily on motivation to ensure interventions are carried out effectively, using various work methods as tools.

Who are we?

Stockholms Demens och Specialteam is a home care company that performs interventions in the customer's own home. The company also provides escort services, relief services, and supported housing.

The service primarily targets customers with varying degrees of dementia, mental health issues, disabilities, and substance abuse problems. In the evenings, the primary focus is on customers with dementia who receive visits according to their care decisions.

We use the time reporting system Paragå, where employees log in and out at each customer visit using a mobile phone and NFC tags. Documentation is done directly on-site in the customer's journal. Paragå monitors logins via GPS.

Where are we located and how do you get to the customers?

We have customers in eight different districts. You start and end each shift from our premises on Södermalm, regardless of which district you are working in during the day. You travel to customers via public transport or on foot (the company does not own cars). An SL card is a requirement for this position.
