Apotekarsocieteten is seeking an experienced and independent IT Manager!

About the role

As IT Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that the organization's IT environment is stable, secure, and fit for purpose. The role involves setting requirements, following up on, and developing IT operations via external vendors, as well as having overall responsibility for the IT environment. The focus of the role lies in vendor management, IT security, and system administration.

This is a crucial role as Apotekarsocieteten's operations are IT-intensive, featuring many hybrid lectures and four websites with e-commerce and other complex functionalities. We run the non-profit association Apotekarsocieteten, the educational company Läkemedelsakademin, the magazine Läkemedelsvärlden, a museum, and a library, but currently lack an internal function that takes overall responsibility for the IT environment. That is where you come in.

You will report directly to the Head of Communication and Policy.

Your responsibilities include:

• Setting requirements, procurement, follow-up, and management of IT operations
• Responsibility for IT security and regulatory compliance
• System administration with responsibility for integrations, documentation, and IT architecture
• Initiating and prioritizing development issues together with the business
• Overall technical responsibility for websites and coordination of administration and support with the help of external web agencies and developers
• Internal IT support and user support to ensure the organization has functional IT support
• Ensuring internal competence development
• Shared responsibility for the IT budget, planning, and coordination of investments related to vendors and services

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Documented experience in managing/setting requirements for IT operations via external vendors
• Overall competence in IT security, risk management, and regulatory compliance (including GDPR)
• Experience in system administration, system landscapes, and integrations
• Experience in web management: operations/security, hosting/performance/availability, and coordination of agencies/developers
• Ability to plan and drive improvement and development initiatives together with the business

It is an advantage if you have experience in change management in smaller organizations.

Very good knowledge of Swedish and English is required for the position.

To succeed in the role, you need to be independent, structured, and confident in prioritizing between operations, support, and development. You are communicative and pedagogical – you create understanding and working methods that work in everyday life. The role involves contact points with several different parties, so we see that you are solution-oriented and thrive in a coordinating role.

Other information

The position is a permanent part-time employment with an initial probationary period. The workplace is located centrally in Stockholm. Individual salary setting applies.

Start date by agreement, but preferably as soon as possible or no later than September 1, 2026.

Apotekarsocieteten is an association with roots dating back to the 17th century that promotes knowledge and competence development within the pharmaceutical field. Apotekarsocieteten has members from various professions who are organized into groups, divided by different subject areas and regions.

Currently, we have 11 local branches across Sweden, 14 scientific sections, and three interdisciplinary interest groups. Together, we work to advance important issues within pharmaceuticals and medical technology, create networks, and arrange lectures and other educational activities in both physical and digital formats.

Our office, lecture hall, and meeting rooms are located on Wallingatan in Stockholm. Here we run the educational company Läkemedelsakademin, the online magazine Läkemedelsvärlden, Apotekarsocieteten's museum, and a library. The operations rely on a digital infrastructure that enables knowledge sharing, networking, and education for members across the country.
