Do you want meaningful tasks that make a difference in people's lives? Welcome to a municipality that is far from average!

The Technical and Property Administration is responsible for the municipality's premises, properties, and technical infrastructure – from planning new construction projects to operation, maintenance, and development. We work with water and sewage, building cleaning, ground maintenance, transport, and vehicle services. Our goal is to build and manage sustainably and in a climate-smart way to ensure a safe and functional everyday life for the residents of Botkyrka. We are approximately 300 employees who, in our various roles, work on solutions based on citizens' needs and the municipality's common goals.

The Role and Responsibilities

Do you want to contribute to giving young people in Botkyrka a safe and educational first experience of working life?

The Technical and Property Administration welcomes a large number of summer interns every summer, and we are now looking for a supervisor who wants to contribute to ensuring that the municipality's young people get a safe, learning, and meaningful introduction to working life. As a supervisor, you are responsible for a group of 6 summer interns during each period. You plan the day, demonstrate work tasks, and follow up to ensure that tasks are carried out safely and correctly.

The duties mainly involve supervision and maintenance of the municipality's properties. The role involves inspiring and motivating the group, creating structure in the work, and providing clear instructions that the young people can follow.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Planning the workday and distributing tasks to the summer interns.
  • Introducing the young people to practical tasks related to property maintenance, painting, and potentially outdoor environments.
  • Working practically together with the group and following up that tasks are completed.
  • Providing clear instructions and ensuring that the young people understand what needs to be done.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and motivating work environment.
  • Reporting deviations, needs, and incidents to the responsible foreman.

The role suits you if you enjoy taking responsibility for a group and creating conditions for an educational and structured summer job for young people. The assignment is a fixed-term employment during the period June 18 to August 16.

What We Offer You

As a supervisor, you will become part of an operation characterized by collaboration, commitment, and a clear desire to create good working environments for both young people and employees. You will work closely with other supervisors and foremen within the Technical and Property Administration and receive support in daily planning.

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in leadership, guidance, and work planning. The role provides valuable experience in leading groups, introducing new people to tasks, and creating structure in an operation where days vary. As an employee in Botkyrka Municipality, you become part of an organization that invests in development, actively works with working environments, and encourages initiatives and new ideas.

You Who Apply to Us

Requirements: You have experience in leading, instructing, or introducing young people. You also have experience working in practical or outdoor-based operations where you have planned and organized tasks in daily work.

Other requirements for the position:

  • Experience in work where you have structured planning and distributed tasks.
  • Category B driver's license, as the role involves moving between different workplaces in the municipality to support the young people in their daily work.

Merits: We consider it a merit if you have:

  • Experience in leadership, for example as a coach or leader within club life.
  • Experience in supervising or guiding young people.
  • Experience working in property maintenance or other service- or technology-related operations.

As a group leader, you are collaborative and relationship-building. You work closely with both supervisors and summer interns and contribute to good cooperation between operations. Through clear and respectful treatment, you create trust and an environment where young people feel safe asking questions and seeking support in their work.

You are also stable and structured in your approach to work. When the pace varies or when young people need extra guidance, you maintain your calm and help the group focus on solutions. Through clear instructions and follow-up, you plan the workday so that tasks become understandable and manageable for the young people.
