As a full-time resource teacher, you will follow and support the same student throughout the entire school day. Together with the school team, your task is to create a safe, predictable, and inclusive school environment where students have the opportunity to develop both academically and socially.

You will become the student's safe point, "interpreter," and link to the outside world. The work is carried out in close collaboration with class teachers, leisure center staff, guardians, and external actors such as habilitation services.

Your main responsibilities:

• Communication & Learning: In consultation with mentors and leisure center colleagues, adapt teaching at a slow pace using visual aids, picture support, and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Interpret the student's gestures and body language, and help the student make themselves understood.
• Social Interaction: Actively support, interpret, and guide students in social situations and during play with other children to prevent isolation.
• Structure & Safety: Create clear frameworks and support transitions between different activities and environments during the school day.
• ADL & Practical Support: Assist with daily routines such as dressing, toilet visits, and personal hygiene.
• Safety & Health: Since the student has reduced pain sensitivity, vigilance regarding potential injuries is required. The position also involves strict responsibility regarding meal situations; you must ensure that the dietitian's recommendations are followed and that the student has continuous supervision.

Who are you?

To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to be a person with great patience, high pedagogical sharpness, and a good ability to read subtle signals.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in need of special support.
• Has good knowledge of and experience with AAC and picture support.
• Is extremely structured, attentive, and responsible (especially important regarding safety and dietary routines).
• Has a low-affective approach and can maintain calm during moments of frustration.
• Is fluent in Swedish, as you will serve as the student's linguistic support and bridge in school.
