Are you a doctor with several years of clinical experience within the Swedish healthcare system? Do you thrive in an independent role where you collaborate and serve as a support in medical matters? Then this might be the role for you.
We are looking for a medically qualified expert to work with Snomed CT.
About the role
As a medically qualified expert, you will be part of a team where your role is to drive and collaborate internally within the agency as well as with external stakeholders regarding medical issues related to the development and quality assurance of translations, models, and concepts.
You are also responsible for contacting medical specialties during development and translation, and you represent the agency in international collaboration groups within Snomed International. The role also includes modeling new concepts in Snomed CT.
You belong to the National Release Center unit, which is tasked with maintaining, further developing, and providing the international concept system Snomed CT. The work with Snomed CT is done in close cooperation with Snomed International, SKR (The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions), and the regions' systems for knowledge management, and is part of the government's initiative to transition to good and close care. The regions are now working on a joint implementation of Snomed CT, and the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (E-hälsomyndigheten) is responsible for the national management organization, where we provide support for use and implementation in the regions' healthcare information systems.
The work involves coordination with other EU countries, and the European Commission is working towards a broad implementation of Snomed CT.
The unit is also responsible for the management and further development of classifications and concept systems, such as ICD and ICF, as well as national classifications. These constitute international and national standards used within healthcare and social services to ensure a uniform structure and use of health data.
The unit is one of three units within the Interoperability Section, which is part of the Digital Infrastructure Division.
