Connecting Jobs, operated by the non-profit organization Beredskapslyftet, helps newly arrived immigrants enter the Swedish labor market while providing companies with access to new skills.

We are looking for freelance interpreters for a company specializing in professional interpretation and translation services. The company uses a booking system to connect customers with a large network of qualified interpreters and translators offering services in over 210 languages and dialects. This enables businesses and private individuals to access interpretation services for various situations and needs, regardless of time or language. Founded in 2015, the company aims to optimize the process of finding reliable interpreters and translators and to make it easier to overcome language barriers.

Location: There is no specific office address; work is performed from home or another quiet environment where confidentiality can be maintained. For on-site assignments at the client's location, addresses vary depending on the county where the interpreter resides.

We are looking for: Freelance Interpreter

Responsibilities:

• Interpret conversations accurately and neutrally between different parties in contexts such as healthcare visits, government contacts, school, and working life.
• Ensure that communication is clear and that all parties understand each other on equal terms.
• Maintain high professionalism, confidentiality, and impartiality in all assignments.
• Independently manage and accept assignments via an app based on your availability and desired workload.
• Perform interpretation assignments as needed, both on-site at the client's location and remotely via phone and video. (It is possible to work remotely only, but we prefer candidates who are open to on-site assignments as well).
• Adapt to different types of assignments, environments, and communicative needs.
• Follow guidelines and quality requirements related to interpretation activities (Good Interpretation Practice).

Requirements:

• You have excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• You have excellent knowledge of one of the following languages: Norwegian, Dutch, or Afar.

• You are service-oriented and can navigate in different environments and contexts.

This position is part of a project co-financed by the European Union through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). The project aims to support third-country nationals in their integration into the Swedish labor market. Participants hold residence permits in Sweden but do not possess Swedish citizenship or EU/EEA citizenship.
