Description
Forensic Psychiatry is a unique department within Sahlgrenska University Hospital, tasked with providing individually adapted psychiatric care and rehabilitation to patients who have been sentenced to care. The department operates inpatient facilities with heightened security classification and also treats patients deprived of their liberty under other legislation who require acute psychiatric specialist care. Forensic Psychiatry has a societal protection responsibility, with the goal that patients can live in society without reoffending due to mental illness.
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist and wish to work in a unique and inspiring work environment. You will be based in our Activity House, located in the middle of the hospital adjacent to our beautiful inner park, and will work with patients in forensic inpatient care.
The Activity House offers fantastic opportunities for rehabilitation and includes, among other things, a gymnasium, swimming pool, art studio, e-sports area, training kitchen, school, and café. Here, optimal conditions are created to support patients' recovery and development.

Responsibilities
As an occupational therapist, you will become part of our Activity House, where you collaborate with other occupational therapists, physiotherapists, activity educators, and health educators. You will also be part of multidisciplinary teams around the patients on the inpatient unit, together with other professional groups.
Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning and implementing occupational therapy interventions for our patients. The work covers the entire occupational therapy process, from assessing ADL (Activities of Daily Living) capacity to treatment through various activities. We are therefore looking for an occupational therapist who has a special interest in activity as part of the treatment. An important part of the role is to contribute to discharge planning, housing, and employment through collaboration with external authorities.
The target group consists of patients in forensic psychiatry with complex psychiatric issues. This may include psychotic illness, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, as well as comorbidity with substance abuse issues.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are trained as an occupational therapist with a genuine interest in psychiatry and rehabilitation. As a person, you are calm, secure, and have a good ability to collaborate. You are proactive, responsible, and flexible, with a solution-focused approach to work.
