Stockholm Science & Innovation School is a high school located in Kista, one of the world's leading IT areas, with proximity to exciting collaboration partners such as IBM, Ericsson, Microsoft, Stockholm University, and KTH. We offer the Technology Programme with specializations in Information and Media Technology, and Natural Science. We are a relatively small school with approximately 380 students and 30 staff members, which creates good conditions for a secure and developing workplace where students and staff work closely together. Job Description
As a special needs educator, you participate in the school's promoting, preventive, and remedial student health work with tasks customary for the role, and you are part of the school's student health team. You collaborate closely with the school's teachers and mentors, working both on-site in classrooms and consultatively with guidance and support that leads to good goal achievement for the students. In your role, you meet students in class, small groups, and individually, and you collaborate with guardians and external contacts as needed. Daily work also includes being available to students and staff by spending time in the school's common areas when time permits. We will conduct interviews continuously throughout the application period.
Qualifications
Stockholm Science & Innovation School is looking for a special needs educator with a teaching license for upper secondary school who has completed the Special Needs Education Programme. You have a good ability to plan, implement, and follow up on special educational interventions, and you are well-versed in student health issues based on the Education Act and the curriculum. You have good competence regarding neuropsychiatric disabilities and the most common compensatory tools, and you can conduct pedagogical assessments and develop action plans. You are sensitive to the needs of students and the organization, and you easily adapt your working methods to different conditions. You have excellent ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, and guardians. To succeed in the role, you also need good judgment, high integrity, attention to detail, strong relationship-building skills, and a pronounced interest in teenagers in upper secondary school.
Educational Requirements
- Licensed upper secondary teacher with additional education in the Special Needs Education Programme.
- Excellent ability to collaborate with both colleagues and students and guardians.
Merits
- Experience from upper secondary school.
- Experience with documentation in ProRenata.
