Together, we are developing Sahlgrenska University Hospital for a sustainable future. We are transforming healthcare with the goal of becoming Europe's leading university hospital by 2032. Together with our patients, we work for quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation within a cohesive healthcare system in the Region of Västra Götaland. Our vision and goals aim for care of the highest quality, where the patient is always at the center. We provide local and regional healthcare, as well as highly specialized care for patients across the country and internationally. Our employees are our strength, contributing to knowledge exchange nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new ways of working, we can simplify daily life at the hospital and offer modern, accessible, and efficient care of the highest quality.

About Us

At Intervention 2 at Sahlgrenska, we have a clear mission with high patient volumes in acute and planned interventional cardiology. Here, we perform coronary angiographies, PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention), and structural valve interventions, supported by the latest technology in modern hybrid operating rooms. Here, you will work in a dynamic environment characterized by knowledge, research, and innovation.

About the Job

As part of the team at Intervention 2, you will meet patients during some of their most critical moments! You have a clear patient-focused approach, and your expertise is crucial for rapid treatment and safe heart care. You are part of our on-call line and help ensure that our patients receive urgent and secure care during evenings, nights, and weekends. During a procedure, we have two roles:

  • As a primary nurse, you are responsible for the patient's well-being and clinical status, including careful monitoring of vital parameters. You handle medications, open sterile materials, document the procedure, and ensure an efficient and structured workflow on the ward.
  • As an assistant nurse, you work in sterile attire close to the operator during procedures. You prepare the room, drape sterilely, participate in the course of the intervention, and ensure that the right materials are used at the right time. In your role, this means staying one step ahead to ensure a safe and efficient procedure.

As your experience and competence develop, you will also work with structural heart interventions such as TAVI, TEER, and other advanced cardiological procedures in a highly specialized and multidisciplinary team. This provides opportunities for continuous professional development within the rapidly growing field of modern heart care.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and thrive in close teamwork. You have good collaboration skills, can quickly adapt to the situation, and prioritize when the pace is high. To thrive in this role, you are flexible, accustomed to taking initiative, and have the ability to independently organize and plan your work – always with the patient in focus!

We warmly welcome your application!
