Department of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Centre
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Our Operations
The Department of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Centre is characterized by well-functioning interprofessional teams, something we are very proud of. Our department has a broad mandate where work is meaningful, exciting, and developing. There are good opportunities to participate in development work and research; in our work, we translate new knowledge into care.
We want you to feel welcome here. As a new employee, you are offered supervision, an induction program, and professional networks. We are experts in rehabilitation but always strive to become even better. As part of this, there is a strong focus on research and progress, both within and outside the hospital, where you as an employee are an important part of this.
Within the Section of Health Professions, we have nine wards with staff covering the entire hospital within somatic adult care. We are now looking for a new colleague to the ward Health Professions Orthopedics & Hand Surgery. Here, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapy assistants, and social workers work within orthopedics and hand surgery. Our ward is characterized by good camaraderie, high competence, and great engagement. We have several development projects underway, and we would like you to grow in your role with us.
Your Role
We are now looking for a physiotherapist on 100% with a focus on orthopedic outpatient care. The work involves assessing and treating patients with orthopedic injuries, primarily from the back and shoulder.
In the back area, you work together with a spine surgeon and perform an initial examination and assessment of patients with back problems. A few weeks after spine surgery, you independently conduct an initial follow-up before the patient continues their rehabilitation in primary care.
In the shoulder area, you work independently with rehabilitation after shoulder surgery, such as large rotator cuff repairs and prosthetic surgeries.
You will be part of a work group with skilled and generous colleagues, and several of the physiotherapists hold specialist competence in orthopedics.
The role may involve staffing all parts of our operations within the Health Professions Orthopedics & Hand Surgery ward, both outpatient and inpatient, on a short and long-term basis. We work in several different areas and there are good opportunities for development. The role may also include supervising students and teaching internally and externally.
In your work, you should be able to prioritize and manage your working time, and you will arrange your time according to the needs of the patients and the operations, which may vary.
As Akademiska Sjukhuset is a university hospital with a mandate to provide healthcare and research, you will also have the opportunity to help develop care for our patients.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist. We consider it meritorious if you have a few years of experience in orthopedic outpatient and/or inpatient care, primary care, or similar.
Your Competence
Great importance is attached to personal suitability, good collaboration and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and work independently and patient-centered. As a person, you are secure, flexible, structured, and solution-oriented. You have good self-awareness and enjoy working both independently and in teams, contributing your knowledge and competence.
