Senior Product Development Engineer – Develop the next generation of automotive lighting!

Do you want to work with product development from idea to finished product and help create innovative automotive lighting for an international market?

Ledson Lights AB in Åstorp is now looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer with strong expertise in design, construction, and CAD. We are looking for someone driven by developing technically refined products where function, design, and quality interact.

In this role, you will work through the entire development chain from concept and design to the finished product on the market. You will play a central role in the development of new products and contribute technical expertise in construction, material selection, and product optimization.

Ledson Lights AB collaborates with highly competent production and development partners in Europe and Asia, with expertise in construction, electronics, and optics. The role involves close and direct dialogue with these partners, and visits to them are a natural part of the job.

With this recruitment, the R&D team will expand to four people. You will become part of a growing team and report to the Head of Purchasing and Product Development. Here you will have the opportunity to work in a technology-driven environment where innovation, design, and product quality are at the center.

Main responsibilities

• Drive product development projects from idea to launch
• Work with design, 3D modeling, and construction
• Contribute to the development of new innovative solutions and products
• Ensure products are functional, competitive, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing
• Participate in the development of technical solutions and product improvements
• Create and analyze product cost calculations and make technical and business trade-offs
• Maintain direct contact with suppliers and development partners in technical dialogues
• Collaborate closely with purchasing, sales, and marketing
• Contribute to the further development of the company's working methods within CAD and product development

Who are you?

You are an experienced designer with documented experience in design and product development. You are confident in your technical skills and are motivated by developing products where both function and form are crucial.

You have likely worked in the automotive industry or related technical areas where high demands are placed on quality, design, and user experience. A genuine interest in automobiles is a big plus, and we would appreciate it if you have an understanding of automotive electronics and electrical systems.

• Have documented experience in design and product development
• Have very good skills in CAD and 3D modeling
• Have experience in structured and systematic development work
• Have knowledge of automotive electronics or electronics-related products (preferred)
• Are accustomed to driving multiple projects in parallel without losing quality or pace
• Have a good understanding of the relationship between technology, function, cost, and customer value
• Are communicative and confident in dialogue with both internal and external parties
• Thrives in a small, engaged team where close collaboration is key
• Fluently speak and write Swedish and English
