At Upplands-Bro Municipality, we are approximately 2,000 employees dedicated to providing our residents and visitors with the best possible service and experience of the municipality. With us, you help build a municipality where a holistic perspective, engagement, and professionalism permeate the organization, and together we work to fulfill our shared societal mission.

At the Employment Unit of Upplands-Bro Municipality, specifically the Guidance and Work Unit, a team of 10 people works to support citizens aged 16–66 in finding employment and achieving self-sufficiency. The team, which includes employment consultants, study and career counselors, activity coordinators, and employer coordinators, manages several of the municipality's key assignments; the Job Center, Municipal Activity Responsibility (KAA), and the municipality's holiday activities. The unit is organizationally placed under the Education Office.

We are now looking for a colleague to join our knowledgeable and engaged team as a Group Activity Leader. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the operations forward and adapt them based on the new activity requirements coming into effect this summer for individuals receiving financial assistance. The activities provided by the unit aim to bring benefit recipients closer to the labor market and self-sufficiency in various ways.

The role of Group Activity Leader involves building a group activity program for our participants from the ground up. In this role, you are responsible for designing, organizing, planning, and implementing group-based activities that complement the participant's other individual planning. A central part of your work will be to motivate, strengthen, and guide participants through various group activities, giving them the opportunity to develop their skills and self-confidence. They will also gain a better understanding of the labor market and the different demands and expectations placed there. Through clear commitment and trust in the individual, you create a safe learning environment for participants who, for various reasons (e.g., illness, language barriers, ADHD/Autism spectrum), are far from the labor market or studies.

You work closely with the unit's employment consultants to ensure that group interventions are relevant, coordinated, and contribute to the individual's development. The position involves varied and pedagogical work where you meet participants with different backgrounds and prerequisites. Here, you have the opportunity to develop your pedagogical role and deepen your competence in adult learning and labor market-oriented measures.

The assignment includes among other things:

  • planning and leading group activities that prepare participants for the labor market, for example, focusing on health, motivation, CV writing, and labor market knowledge
  • creating an inclusive and inspiring learning environment where participants can practice social skills, strengthen self-esteem, and develop their competence in a group setting
  • following up and providing feedback on participants' engagement and development to the responsible employment consultant, to ensure clear progression is visible
  • developing and creating course materials that can be used in both group activities and individual contexts
  • collaborating with other professions within and outside the unit, such as study and career counselors, employer coordinators, and social secretaries within financial assistance

We are looking for you who

  • have post-secondary education as a teacher, occupational therapist, or other education suitable for the assignment
  • have experience in conveying knowledge in a clear and pedagogical way adapted to participants' different prerequisites
  • have experience in engaging and motivating participants with varying backgrounds, language levels, and experience
  • have good administrative skills and good digital competence with experience working in various systems
  • fluent in Swedish, both in speech and writing

We place great importance on your personal qualities. As a person, we see that you easily build trusting relationships and meet people with respect and sensitivity. You have a genuine commitment to the target group and are driven by making a difference. You work in a structured and independent manner, while also being a team player who gladly shares your competence and contributes to the development of the work group. You thrive in social settings, have good cooperation skills, and appreciate working in a business where flexibility and initiative are highly valued.
