At Bräcke Diakoni, we are currently looking for summer substitutes for Västergården, a care and housing facility for people in mid-life with dementia (cognitive impairment), where you help create safety and meaning in the daily lives of our residents. Your job this summer

As a summer substitute at Västergården, you will meet people under the age of 65 with cognitive illness, in a role where the relationship is just as important as the care. Together with colleagues, you contribute to a safe and active daily life, adapted to each person's conditions. You will work scheduled periods during the summer, between weeks 24–32. There is also a need for hourly positions.

You will mainly:

• Organize activities outside the facility, such as excursions and walks.
• Support routines for daily tasks, such as meals, rest, and social interaction.
• Participate in social activities.
• Provide support in personal care.
• Document and administer medication – after training and supervision by our on-site nurse.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals in the care of the residents.

Who we are looking for

You want to work extra alongside studies or another job. Perhaps you are studying to become a nursing assistant or nurse – or already have experience. At Västergården, we are looking for you who are calm and structured in your work approach, sensitive to the residents' needs, and thrive in team settings. You invite dialogue and want to contribute to the resident being involved in their daily life. We are also looking for hourly substitutes, which is often a path to longer substitute positions and permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Experience in care work, from previous employment or practice.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document digitally.
• Previous experience working in housing services and with people with cognitive illness is an advantage.

Bräcke Care and Housing Facility Västergården

Västergården in Gothenburg is a housing facility for people in mid-life who are under 65 years old and have cognitive illness. Here, we work in a team-based manner, focusing on health and the abilities that our active residents still possess. We call this the "KAN-list".
