About us

Naturskolan is a resource for all primary schools in the municipality. We meet school classes from preschool class to year 9 outdoors in all weather conditions. A large part of our operations take place in the Sättra Nature Reserve, where we also have the cottage Skeppartorp, and we are sometimes indoors.

We conduct theme-based outdoor education focusing primarily on nature, environment, and outdoor life, aiming to ensure that children and young people feel safe and joyful in nature! Through practical exercises, we want to spark interest in nature and the environment and contribute to lifelong learning and engagement in sustainable development.

About the position

As a nature school educator, your work will involve planning and conducting nature school days. You will conduct these either independently or together with your colleagues. In your work, you will meet new groups of students every day. Together with your colleagues, you will plan and shape the operation's offerings and themes. The job requires good physical fitness as we move extensively in the terrain. Since the work takes place in various natural areas around Upplands Väsby Municipality, having access to your own car is an advantage.

You will have primary responsibility for the nature school's gardening and its gardening theme for schools. Therefore, you need to have knowledge and experience regarding gardening.

The position is a parental leave substitute from August 10 to December 11, 2026.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Post-secondary education in biology, ecology, nature conservation, pedagogy, or other equivalent education
• Experience in pedagogical work with children and young people
• Knowledge, interest, and experience in gardening and gardening projects
• Good knowledge of Swedish
• Category B driver's license.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in outdoor pedagogy and/or cross-curricular teaching
• Experience leading groups in nature
• Experience working with teacher competence development
• Good knowledge of species identification
• Gardening education.
