The Department of Culture and Community Development has a broad area of operations, with many important functions in the municipality, including planning, building permits, GIS mapping and surveying, library, cultural school, associations, events, local maintenance, and outdoor environments. We are now looking for a Planning Architect for the Community Planning Unit.

In the role of Planning Architect, you will be a central figure in shaping the municipality's future in collaboration with colleagues, management, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include both detailed planning and comprehensive planning, as well as housing supply issues, overall traffic planning, etc. You are responsible for preparing detailed plans, both municipality-initiated and privately initiated, where you drive processes from idea to approval. The work also includes procurement and project management of consultants in cases where planning work is carried out externally. You are responsible for the entire planning process, including administration, and conduct regular check-ins with colleagues, management, and the political level.

An important part of the position is also comprehensive planning, where you are responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and assessing the relevance of the comprehensive plan in accordance with the Planning and Building Act. You prepare background materials and make assessments of the extent to which the comprehensive plan provides guidance for land and water use, the development and preservation of the built environment, and how it meets national interests and environmental quality standards.

Based on these analyses, you contribute to identifying needs for revisions, additions, or changes to the existing comprehensive plan. This means you work strategically to develop and update the plan so that it is current and relevant based on new knowledge, changed conditions, and state or regional materials.

The work takes place in close collaboration with politicians, colleagues, authorities, business life, and the public. You are responsible for dialogue, consultation, and communication related to both detailed planning and comprehensive planning. You also act as an advisor to the public and can clearly and pedagogically explain planning regulations, legislation, and issues related to, for example, cultural heritage, design, and coastal protection.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A degree in architecture, physical planning, landscape architecture, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• At least three years of experience in detailed planning as well as good experience and knowledge within comprehensive planning, including work related to the relevance and development of comprehensive plans.
• Good insight into the Planning and Building Act and other relevant legislation, with the ability to independently drive planning processes.
• Experience in analyzing planning materials, making strategic assessments, and working with long-term development issues in a politically governed organization.
• A valid driver's license (Category B).

Merits:

• Experience with Geosecma for ArcGIS and the Adobe suite.

About you as a person

As a person, you are goal- and result-oriented, structured, and have a strategic holistic perspective. You work independently, take responsibility for driving processes forward, and have very good collaboration skills. The role places high demands on communication skills; you express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and can adapt your communication to different target groups. You have good computer skills related to, among other things, case management and physical planning.
