To the Mother Tongue Unit of Värmdö Municipality, we are looking for a Mother Tongue Teacher in Norwegian.

The mother tongue instruction for the municipality's students in grades 1–9 is coordinated by Ekedalsskolan in Gustavsberg. The teaching takes place at various schools depending on where the students reside within the municipality. The teaching groups consist of students of mixed ages and varying prior knowledge.

As a mother tongue teacher, you will be part of a work team together with other mother tongue teachers in the municipality. The position includes participation in work team meetings approximately twice per term. The role also involves extensive contact with parents, as well as attendance reporting, lesson planning, and documentation in the school portal Vklass.

We are looking for someone who has teacher education and experience teaching students of different ages. You should have very good knowledge of the language you teach, as well as good familiarity with the culture and traditions of the countries where the language is spoken. You also need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, as well as Swedish culture and traditions.

We place great emphasis on your ability to collaborate and communicate with students, colleagues, and parents, as well as your ability to independently conduct teaching based on current regulatory documents. Knowledge of the curriculum for the subject of mother tongue, pedagogical planning, assessment writing, evaluation, and grading is meritorious. A good understanding of the curriculum's value base and view of knowledge is also important.

Computer proficiency is a requirement and a prerequisite for success in the role. Experience with the school portal Vklass is meritorious.

The employment consists of a holiday service part-time position (6%) and is a fixed-term appointment for the school year 2026/2027, starting with the autumn term. Start date August 17 or as agreed.

The position may be filled if it is not taken due to priority rights resulting from surplus staff.
