Österskärsskolan is a school with two parallel classes in each grade level, with a total of 400 students and 50 employees. The school is located in a residential area in Österskär, close to forests, the sea, parks, and the Roslagsbanan railway.
Your new job
As a teaching assistant, you will work with a student attending adapted primary school in an integrated form. In the role of teaching assistant, you work both in the school and in the after-school activities in close collaboration with school teachers, after-school center teachers, and student health personnel. You help create structure, clarify instructions, and support the student in their learning and social development. You are an important part of creating a safe and inclusive environment where the student has the opportunity to develop based on their own prerequisites. You actively contribute to adapting the teaching and school environment to the student's needs. You are a stable adult role model who makes a difference every day with patience, sensitivity, and engagement.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who is confident in their role and has a great interest in children's development. You are creative and are happy to bring new ideas and suggestions for working methods.
You work solution-focused with the student at the center, have a low-affective approach, and are self-initiative in your work. As a person, you are stable, confident, and clear, and you find it easy to collaborate. You enjoy working closely with students throughout the school day, and it is important that you can distinguish between the personal and the professional. You understand that learning starts with the relationship, and therefore you are interested in building good relationships with students, guardians, and school staff.
- You have education in pedagogy/care/social services or another education considered equivalent.
- You have experience working with students with intellectual disabilities in adapted primary school.
- You have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
- You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
- Great importance is attached to personal suitability and experience of working with the student group.
