At Bräcke Care and Residential Home Västergården, you have the opportunity to lead work at a specialized residence for people with young-onset dementia – people who are in the midst of life. As the lead nurse for nursing care, you are the hub around which care and support for the residents revolve. Here you will lead without formal personnel responsibility, helping to create security for the residents, clarity for the staff, and participation in daily life.

Your Role

As the lead nurse for nursing care, you have a coordinating and driving role at Västergården. You lead the nursing work, support the team, and collaborate with relatives to create security in a daily life that is both stimulating and challenging. In close collaboration with the operations manager, you are a key link between management and the team, guiding the team in nursing matters. With your competence, you contribute to keeping the work together and developing nursing care based on the residents' needs.

You are responsible for:

• Leading and coordinating nursing care around the residents
• Making assessments and decisions in health and medical care matters
• Supporting and coaching the team
• Being an attentive conversation partner for relatives
• Conducting team meetings, relative meetings, and collaboration with other professions
• Identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of the operations

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for you who are a nurse and want to influence through leadership based on experience, collaboration, and inspiration. As a professional nurse, you feel confident in making decisions and taking initiative. At the same time, you communicate listeningly and clearly, in a way that creates trust in encounters with people. You want to take an active role in the operations at Västergården and contribute to the team developing together, based on a person-centered approach where we see the person behind the diagnosis.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• Experience of dementia care or elderly care
• Leadership experience – experience of leading teams, projects, or development work
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• Good familiarity with documentation and digital systems

Merits

• Experience working with people with cognitive diseases or young-onset dementia
• Experience of quality work or improvement work
• Advanced knowledge within dementia care, palliative care, or leadership
• Knowledge of national guidelines for dementia care

Bräcke Care and Residential Home Västergården

Västergården is a specialized residence for people with young-onset dementia (onset before age 65) with 18 permanent places and 7 short-term places. Here we work person-centered and with high competence to meet the unique needs of this target group. Our team consists of engaged employees who together create a meaningful and dignified daily life for our residents.

Here your role as the lead nurse for nursing care becomes important. You contribute leadership to work where medical assessments, relationships, and the content of daily life need to hang together.
