About the role

As Operations Manager, you are responsible for the daily operations of the ski area in Björkliden. The role involves close work with lift operations, ski patrol, snow grooming, cross-country tracks, and garage activities. You lead and distribute the work for the staff on the mountain and ensure that the operations run safely, efficiently, and according to our procedures and industry standards.

You work both strategically and operationally – one day you plan staffing and maintenance, the next day you handle weather changes, operational stoppages, or coordinate resources out in the ski area.

Your main responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily operations and safety in the ski area
  • Supervise and schedule staff within:
    • Ski Patrol
    • Lift Attendants
    • Cross-country Tracks
    • Låkta Operations
  • Ensure safe operation of lift systems and ski area
  • Coordinate preparation of slopes, lift lines, snow clearing, and cross-country tracks
  • Handle incident and injury reporting
  • Responsible for signage, barriers, and safety routines
  • Coordinate transport and vehicle needs within the facility
  • Recruitment and employment for upcoming seasons
  • Participate in operational meetings and report to the Mountain Manager

You are solution-oriented, responsible, and have a strong safety mindset. At the same time, you are unpretentious and enjoy working together with others to create the best possible experience for our guests and employees.

We believe you have:

  • Experience in supervision or operational responsibility
  • Good technical understanding
  • Experience from ski, mountain, or contracting operations
  • Snowmobile license and good driving skills
  • Good knowledge of lift operations and ski areas
  • Knowledge of SLAO guidelines and safety work
  • Completed chairlift rescue training or equivalent experience
  • Previously worked with snow groomers or similar vehicles and had vehicle responsibility
  • Knowledge in scheduling and personnel planning
  • Knowledge in snow and avalanche safety
  • Experience working in complex terrain
  • Knowledge of Caspeco or similar personnel systems

The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probation period, full-time.
