The Swedish Armed Forces Technical School (FMTS), headquartered in Halmstad, is an air force unit where technology is at the center. The unit's operations rest on three pillars – development, education, and wartime unit production. For the Swedish Armed Forces' units to operate, they need functioning materiel, and for that, FMTS is a vital cog. FMTS has a functional responsibility for the technical service within the Swedish Armed Forces, which among other things means following technological development to anticipate future needs but also proposing changes and improvements. Here there are exciting development opportunities for those interested in technology, both at basic and highly advanced levels. FMTS trains officers, specialist officers, and civilian employees in technical service across all branches of the armed forces. Here we also train conscript soldiers in areas such as logistics. Every day and every hour, our employees make contributions that affect other people's lives, both big and small, both at home and around the world.

In the Swedish Armed Forces, there is a strong value base built on openness, results, and responsibility. Professional development and personal health are valued and encouraged. There are good conditions for internal career opportunities, wellness programs, and a good balance between work and private life. The Swedish Armed Forces capitalize on the qualities that diversity and equal gender distribution bring to the operations. We therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences in our recruitment. An employment with us involves placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. Security clearance with background check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be placed in wartime positions. The employment also includes an obligation to serve abroad, but the meaning of this varies depending on the type of position. A CV and cover letter must be attached to the application for employment. If you proceed in the employment process, certified copies of certificates and documents must always be presented.
