Axis is looking for a strategic and relationship-building Commodity Quality Engineer who wants to drive supplier quality in a global environment. Here you will combine technology, improvement work, and international supplier contacts in an independent role.

About the role

As a Commodity Quality Engineer at Axis Communications, you drive strategic quality work and ensure quality among suppliers within Diecast Commodity. You work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, are responsible for improvement initiatives, and build strong supplier relationships in an international environment. The role involves travel.

You will be employed by Academic Work and work on assignment for Axis Communications during the first 6 months, with the ambition to be directly hired by the client afterwards.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and develop quality assurance within Diecast Commodity
  • Conduct supplier audits and onboarding of new suppliers
  • Initiate and follow up on supplier improvement programs and quality metrics
  • Handle and drive 8D cases related to quality deviations
  • Be responsible for and ensure compliance with quality assurance in accordance with ISO, ATEX, and IECEx standards.
  • Collaborate closely with functions within sourcing, sustainability, regulatory, and manufacturing
  • Work strategically with stakeholder management and supplier dialogues
  • Travel internationally approximately 20–40 days per year

We are looking for you who

  • Have relevant technical education in areas such as quality, production, mechanical engineering, or similar
  • Have experience in quality work and/or supplier quality in a technical environment
  • Are accustomed to working with problem-solving methods such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why
  • Have basic knowledge of quality and regulatory standards such as ISO 9001, IPC, RoHS, and REACH
  • Have strong analytical skills and thrive on driving problem-solving and improvement work
  • Communicate fluently in English, both orally and in writing
  • Are confident in handling various stakeholders and building good relationships, both internally and externally
  • Have the ability to drive dialogues, negotiations, and collaborations with suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Thrive in a role with many contact surfaces and a large international network

It is meritorious if you have

  • Experience in die casting, metalworking, or contract manufacturing/high-mix production
  • Knowledge of ATEX and IECEx standards
  • Experience with systems and tools such as Windchill, IFS, Qlik, or Power BI
  • Certification as a Lead Auditor or Quality Engineer
  • Knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
