NU Hospital, part of the Region of Västra Götaland, is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The Heart Centre consists of two inpatient wards, Ward 43 and Ward 44, as well as integrated interventional activities. The Heart Centre has 44 care beds, of which 10 are ICU (Intensive Care Unit) beds. On the wards, we treat patients with acute coronary artery disease, heart attack, unstable angina, heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-operatively after procedures such as coronary artery bypass surgery. We carry out both elective and acute activities.

We offer you exciting and developmental work in a modern operation with dedicated employees. Many of our employees are part of teams responsible for the implementation of work. As several of our operational parts are facing expansion, we need to recruit more nurses. We hope you want to become our new colleague!

What can we offer you?

We work in teams consisting of nurses, assistant nurses, senior consultants, and resident doctors. Physiotherapists and occupational therapists are also important collaborators around the patient. We offer opportunities for competence development through internal training as well as external university education in cardiology. We also use individual scheduling.

As a new nurse, you start your employment at the Post-Operative Ward (EVA), where you get a secure start with supervision for four weeks. The introduction to the ICU (HIA) happens gradually and is adapted individually to your needs and experience.

At our center, there are good opportunities for further development. You can, for example, deepen your knowledge within our outpatient care at the Heart Clinic, focusing on areas such as heart failure, pacemaker nurse, day care, or the role of planning nurse.

We also work within several exciting interventional areas, such as coronary angiography/PCI and our own Pacemaker Room as an Operating Room Nurse (Op-SSK) or on the monitoring side where different types of pacemaker insertions are performed.

We offer a varied and developmental work environment where you as a nurse have the opportunity to grow and broaden your competence within cardiac care.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have an interest in cardiology. It is meritorious if you have experience in cardiological and/or medical emergency care, where you may need to make quick decisions and handle situations in a methodical way. To thrive with us, we see that you are flexible, cooperative, and positive. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Clinical Foundation Year

As a newly graduated nurse, you are included in the Clinical Foundation Year, an initiative to give newly graduated nurses a good start in working life. You get better opportunities to develop in your profession and build a professional identity through introduction, seminar days, and professional mentoring.
