Adult Education Kunskapsparken is the central unit responsible for study and career guidance and admission to municipal adult education in Sollentuna Municipality. Adult education is conducted through contracts with several private educational providers via an authorization system run by Vux Norrort, a collaboration between ten municipalities.

In our team, there are six study and career counselors, two administrators, a development manager for SFI (Swedish for Immigrants), a special education teacher, a digitalization pedagogue, a mathematics teacher, and a principal. We are looking for you who are a proactive and creative study and career counselor who wants to contribute to the development of our operations.

Responsibilities

You will work with booked individual guidance sessions both on-site and remotely by phone or via Teams. You will also receive visitors at the Self-service desk, staff the chat and customer phone, handle student cases, conduct group information meetings, work with outreach activities, collaborate with educational providers and relevant units in the municipality. Administrative tasks include, for example, email handling, processing applications, helping applicants create and change individual study plans, writing adaptation proposals together with students in need of support, and issuing final grades and high school diplomas.

The work is performed in close collaboration with other staff at Adult Education Kunskapsparken, which is at the forefront when it comes to testing new working methods and approaches. Together with your colleagues, you will work on developing both the study and career guidance and other parts of the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• a degree in study and career guidance.
• experience working as a study and career counselor within adult education and guiding people with different cultural backgrounds.
• knowledge and insight into relevant policy documents, regulations, methods, and routines within the field of adult education.
• experience in supporting and motivating adult students.
• good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
• good digital competence.

Meritorious qualifications include:

• experience of previous work as a study and career counselor within municipal adult education.
• good knowledge of eligibility requirements and regulations regarding high school diplomas from adult education (komvux).
• experience working with people in need of support.
• strong administrative skills, with experience working in various administrative programs such as Alvis, Framtidskortet, and Valideringscentralen.

Application

The position is a one-year project employment. Start date according to agreement.
