RESPONSIBILITIES

The Care Administration at Kalmar Municipality is now looking for a Care Assistant for a fixed-term position with special responsibility for social content at two of our community centers in the southern part of Kalmar.

Through a process-oriented approach, we create clear structures and flows in our operations with the care recipient in focus. As a Community Center Coordinator, you are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing activities that strengthen health, participation, and quality of life for our visitors. You will have a special focus on rich and meaningful social content. The work is rehabilitative and health-promoting, with outdoor activities being a natural part of the day.

You will be responsible for one or more community centers, which includes:

• Planning and implementation of activities
• Responsibility for premises and purchasing
• Delegated budget responsibility
• Collaboration with volunteers, associations, and voluntary organizations
• Participation in kitchen and café operations (at some centers)

You will also build relationships within the municipality and with external actors to create a vibrant network around our community centers. This may also include leading self-help groups and other social initiatives.

We are looking for you who have a genuine desire to work with people. You are proactive, have good organizational skills, and are good at building relationships. Experience in activity planning, association collaboration, or volunteer work is a big plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are trained as a Care Assistant, preferably with further education in activity pedagogy, Specialist Care Assistant, or have other relevant experience and personal suitability for the role. If you also have experience with outdoor activities and leading exercise sessions, such as yoga, chair exercises, mindfulness, or giving small lectures, it is an advantage.

You are confident speaking in front of groups and have an easy time creating engagement. You work independently, are solution-focused, and are used to taking initiative, while also seeing the value in good collaboration and team spirit.

To succeed in the role, you also need to:

• Be service-oriented and have ease in communicating verbally and in writing
• Have good digital skills both for yourself and as support for our elderly
• Be curious, development-oriented, and see opportunities for renewal and improvement
• Be able to handle a high pace and tasks that can sometimes be physically demanding (heavy lifting occurs)

Since the work takes place in rural areas, a B-driver's license and access to a car are required. You will also drive a minibus as part of the service, which requires that you can drive a manual car. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
