Qualified Music Teacher for International School in Sigtuna

At Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket (SSHL), you will become part of a unique school environment where young people from all over the world live, study, and develop together. As a teacher, you are close to the students in their daily lives and contribute to both their knowledge development and personal growth.

SSHL is a boarding school with roots dating back to the 1920s and currently has approximately 550 students from over 30 countries. We offer both Swedish and international education, including upper secondary school and IB programs. Our ambition is to constantly work for the best interests of the student.

1 Position(s)

Responsibilities

We are now looking for a qualified music teacher at 60% for our IB Middle Years Programme. All teaching is conducted in English. The position includes mentorship and involves working closely with students, colleagues, and school leadership in a dynamic and international environment.

In the role of teacher, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, and follow-up of music education. You work actively to develop teaching together with colleagues and contribute to a stimulating learning environment.

As a mentor, you follow the students' development, support them in their studies, and serve as an important adult figure in their school day.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified teacher in music.
  • Has an easy time building trusting relationships with young people and colleagues.
  • Is structured, flexible, and has good planning skills.
  • Has a solution-oriented approach and good judgment.
  • Has a genuine interest in teaching and student development.
  • Thrives in an international and changing environment.

Specific Requirements:

  • Teaching certification with eligibility in music.
  • Experience teaching at the upper secondary level is required.
  • Very good communicative skills in Swedish and English are required.
  • Experience in an international environment is meritorious.

Employment Type

Permanent position.
