The Lycée Français Saint-Louis Foundation is an international school following the French curriculum under a convention with AEFE (Agence pour l’enseignement Français à l’étranger). The school, with approximately 700 students aged 6 to 19, is located in the beautiful natural surroundings of Stora Essingen. In this stimulating multicultural environment, students from around 40 nations and 170 staff members work together, with language as the connecting link. The foundation also includes a Swedish preschool with a French profile, serving approximately 100 children. Since 2022, LFSL has also organized an after-school center for students in grades CP-CM1 (ages 6–9).
From the 2026 school year, there is a vacancy for a History-Geography and Civic Education teacher. The curriculum and working language are French.
Job Responsibilities and Required Qualities:
Under the direction of the School Director or their deputy, the History-Geography and Civic Education (HG-EMC) teacher instructs, trains, and monitors students from lower secondary to upper secondary school in the various learning cycles of history-geography and moral and civic education, in accordance with the curricula and principles of the French national education system. The teacher helps students express themselves, develop critical thinking, and foster the creative ability to form their own viewpoints through a variety of tasks. Target grades: from grade 6 to the final year of upper secondary school.
The duties include, but are not limited to:
- Designing and implementing teaching in history-geography and moral-civic education within the framework of the French national curriculum. The language of instruction is French.
- Contributing to the acquisition of skills, including abilities, attitudes, and knowledge.
- Designing and implementing methods for student learning and assessment in lower and upper secondary school.
- As a lead teacher, participating in the guidance process in shaping future citizens whose career choices may lead towards healthcare, future opportunities, civic engagement, or artistic and cultural education.
- Participation in school activities and implementation of the school project.
- Planning annual activities.
- Cultural awareness of Swedish culture and collaboration with the French Institute.
- Communication and publicity of cultural activities, especially on the LFSL website.

- EBEP (students with special needs)
Languages:
Fluent French, as it is the language of instruction, and basic knowledge of English are required. Knowledge of Swedish is an asset.
Educational Requirements:
Baccalauréat + at least 3 years of study in French as the language of instruction (history/geography, moral and civic education).
Teaching certification is desirable.
Desired professional experience at the upper secondary level at a French institution or within the French international education network.
Contract:
The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probation period, full-time on a local agreement with holiday pay, starting in mid-August 2026.
