Job Description

As a Home Economics teacher at IES Årsta, you will teach grades 4–5. You will work to create an stimulating classroom environment for effective teaching and learning, while upholding the school's values both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to teaching, you will maintain close contact with guardians regarding the student's development, progress, and performance to create the best possible conditions for the student to succeed in their studies. You will also share a mentor class with one of your wonderful teaching colleagues!

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a Swedish teaching license with eligibility to teach Home Economics in grades 4–9 of compulsory school. You are fluent in both Swedish and English, as both languages are used in daily work. We also believe you have clear leadership qualities and are self-motivated in your work. You are easy to collaborate with and have good communication skills, as you will communicate daily with colleagues, guardians, and students. We see that you thrive in a dynamic environment where no day is the same and you are driven by seeing students develop and grow with your guidance.

A Swedish teaching license with eligibility to teach Home Economics is required for this position.

The position is a fixed-term appointment at 25%, starting August 10, 2026. To apply, you need a valid extract from the Swedish Police Authority's register of convictions (belastningsregistret) for work in schools.
