Fruängens School is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with 600 students in regular and adapted primary education. The school is located adjacent to Fruängen Centre with easy access to good public transport connections – subway and bus. The area is characterized by housing built in the 1950s and 60s, with new residential areas added in recent years.

The school consists of six buildings surrounding a large schoolyard with trees and ample space for play and movement. The classrooms are modern and offer an stimulating environment.

We are approximately 100 employees with long collective experience and high competence, and a strong interest in developing our joint work.

Your role

The Lead Teacher in Mathematics is tasked with strengthening the quality of teaching and contributing to increased goal fulfillment in mathematics by driving pedagogical development, supporting colleagues, and implementing research-based methods.

Based on proven experience, you will systematically and structurally contribute to:

• Developing and making visible the teaching, student learning, and study results.
• Working for the development of the entire school and all students.
• Ensuring student knowledge results are monitored and analyzed at the school level.
• Creating a safe learning environment and a belief in all students' ability to learn.
• Knowledge development for yourself, colleagues, and the profession as a whole.
• Ensuring teaching is based on scientific grounds and proven experience.

You will be part of a work team and a subject team where you collaborate with colleagues and play a key role in collegial learning to create new and deeper knowledge.

The position also includes teaching in Natural Sciences (NO) in grades 7–9.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, with at least 4 years of documented experience after obtaining your teaching degree.

Furthermore, we want you to have:

• Excellent ability to design teaching in accordance with curricula, subject plans, and current knowledge requirements.
• Shown a particularly good ability to improve students' study results and have a strong interest in developing teaching.
• Experience in systematic quality work and good competence in analysis.
• Experience in leading collegial learning and the ability to lead and inspire colleagues in development work.

Especially meritorious for a Lead Teacher are:

• VFU (Student Teaching) supervisor training, mentor training, or other coach/supervisor training.
• Master’s degree in educational sciences – preferably with experience in working with school development and/or leading professional development for teachers.
• Experience in handling particularly complex teaching situations is seen as meritorious.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-insight. You are a clear leader in the classroom and value collaboration. You create good conditions for this and build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
