This is a fixed-term full-time position starting August 10, 2026, until June 2027.

Your Role

As a Student Assistant, you will support a Year 5 student with diabetes and ensure their well-being throughout the school day. You will follow the student's self-care plan, which involves checking blood sugar, administering insulin, managing meals, and being close to the student when needed. You will receive an introduction and training in pediatric diabetes care upon starting.

You will collaborate closely with teachers, after-school staff, and other student assistants. In addition to your main duties, you will also support other students during lessons, breaks, lunch, transitions, and, if necessary, during after-school activities. You contribute to safety, well-being, and development, both socially and academically. You accompany students on trips and activities outside of school. The role involves daily contact with guardians and building good relationships with students and colleagues.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• a secondary education diploma
• experience working with children, students, or young people
• experience and knowledge of Type 1 diabetes
• competence in technology and medical applications
• good ability to express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing

The following qualifications are meritorious:

• education in child and youth care or healthcare
• experience working as a student assistant
• experience in healthcare and familiarity with nursing care tasks

With your good judgment, you are willing to take responsibility and make decisions when the situation requires it.

You communicate and explain things clearly and pedagogically to students and guardians. As a person, you have a sensitive approach when interacting with students; you can be close and supportive without them feeling monitored. You are attentive, present, and build trusting relationships that contribute to the students' safety and development.
