The Education Administration is responsible for preschools, after-school centers, primary schools, upper secondary schools, and adapted primary and upper secondary schools. We have over 3,200 employees at 40 preschools, 22 primary schools, and four upper secondary schools. The Language Centre in Botkyrka Municipality is responsible for mother tongue instruction and study guidance at municipal primary and upper secondary schools as well as independent schools. The Language Centre is also responsible for the reception and school placement of newly arrived students. We have the mandate to preserve and promote multilingualism. We strive to be at the forefront with an intercultural approach so that our students develop into brave, energetic, responsible, and open citizens.

The Role and Responsibilities

As a mother tongue teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing teaching according to each student's prerequisites. You will also evaluate and develop the pedagogical work of the activity. The work is carried out both independently and together with engaged colleagues.

Your main tasks are:

• Conduct mother tongue instruction and study guidance.
• Assign grades and assessments.
• Have contact with students, parents, other teachers, and schools.

You will conduct teaching at various schools in the municipality and, as support for the pedagogical work, you will have access to technical tools.

As mother tongue teachers, we have the opportunity to connect the child with society and reduce the gap between the student, home, and school. We strengthen the children socially and give them a place to dare to speak in school. For newly arrived children, we are an adult they can talk to in their language, which has a great impact on the child entering school and feeling comfortable.

You who apply to us

We are looking for you who have a teacher's license with eligibility to teach mother tongue, or alternatively, eligibility validated by the Swedish Council for Higher Education. We assume that you have good knowledge of Swedish and the Swedish school system.

You can conduct teaching independently and based on steering documents, and it is obvious to you to work with ICT, and you are interested in digital development and the opportunities this gives in teaching.

We consider it meritorious if you:

• Have a Swedish mother tongue teacher's license in the mother tongue Serahule.
• Have a Swedish teacher's license in other subjects.
• Have worked as a mother tongue teacher and with study guidance.
• Have worked as a teacher.

You need to be very structured as you will plan and conduct your teaching on your own. Building relationships is important as you will have a lot of contact with all schools, parents, and students. You will work together with schools and teachers in study guidance, and there cooperation is the keyword. Situations always arise in the school world that you cannot always control, and then you must solve the problems on the spot and many times without getting help from others.
